Atlas' bimetallic face-seal fittings - Aerospace Manufacturing and Design

Metal Stamping Part Using proprietary and state-of-the-art explosion bonding technology, the bimetallic fittings have a highly durable stainless-steel sealing face explosively bonded to an aluminum body for weld up to an aluminum tube. They are fully compatible with their all-stainless Swagelock VCR and Parker Hannifin VacuSeal counterparts. Atlas aluminum ATCR fittings enable engineers to use the properties of aluminum such as very high thermal conductivity, light weight, nonmagnetic, and chemical resistance with conventional VCR type seals. Atlas manufactures socket, butt, and male weld ATCR face-seal fittings. They are ideal for vacuum or cryogenic applications in a variety of industries. Every face-seal fitting manufactured by Atlas are helium leak tested for service in UHV (ultra-high vacuum) environments more than 1x10-9 Torr. The fittings allow for robust demountable use of aluminum tubing which is used extensively in cryogenic, physics, aerospace, and semiconductor applications worldwide. Features of the ATCR face-seal fittings include mechanical interface strength equaling 15,000psi tensile and 10,000psi shear. While the body is made of aluminum, the seal-face is stainless steel. The nut can be aluminum or stainless steel. Fittings are available in butt welt, male weld, socket weld, or chamber mount configurations in sizes of ¼-, 3/8-, ½-, ¾-, and 1-inch tube diameters. Chamber mount fittings are available in configurations suitable for ½-, ¾-, 1-, and 1 ¼-inch chamber wall thicknesses. Atlas Technologies has been involved in advanced vacuum technology products and services for more than twenty years and have developed unique manufacturing and coating technologies to advance the industry. The company’s bimetallic technology allows them to offer aluminum flanges with robust industry standard stainless-steel knife edges. This enables UHV all-metal seals on aluminum chambers. Additionally, the bimetallic technology can solve many problems found in the industry. The company provides standard products as well as custom and semi-custom capabilities to its customers.
